So what do you do when you have a day off in Treasure Cay?

You go explore of course!

We dragged our lovely friend/manager Nirit with us to The Blue Hole and had such an amazing day at this hidden gem!

After getting lost on our car journey a few times and completely missing the turning (caribbean signage on roads is appalling btw!)
We arrived and found ourselves to be the only ones at the site

It's a natural sink hole, hidden in a field of pine trees in the middle of a Bahamian island!
The hole is 75ft across and drops to 267ft!
You can dive, snorkel and swing off a rope tied to a tree! or simply lounge in the shallows

There are told wives tales told by local grandmothers and grandfathers of the mythical Lusca, the legendary monster with a shark head and an octopus body who lives beneath the depths of the blue hole,
and this actually keeps many Bahamians away.

We actually did find it a little creepy when we arrived, and the water is slightly murky, in comparison to the brilliantly clear abacos sea, we couldn't believe how different these two bodies of water were.

Above is a little edit of our day there, we also found a few amazing butterflies with neon blue winds and an orange body!

We had a beautiful day here, and definitely think if you want to escape with friends and enjoy a day cooling off from the heat of the day
