St Vincent has a few secret treasures (other than being the set for some of the Pirates of the Caribbean films!)

It's home to some gorgeous waterfalls!

We visited Wallilabou and Dark view Falls on a day trip around the south west side of the island before heading back to Bequia.

Our first stop was Wallilabou; home to the pirates of the caribbean set (of Tortuga)

We found some left over paraphernalia and some very weird looking props!

We couldn't resist the chance to mess around and explore the set, we found old film reels and lots of photos explaining how the set was used and who stood where!

After checking out the set, we went up the road to where the wallilabou falls sits, we paid a nature park fee to walk around and explore the beautiful (if small) waterfall.

It's made up from the mountainside run off that falls through a large slab of granite and pools before streaming off to who knows where!

We took a swim in the deep pool before moving on to our next location,

Dark view falls!

This magnificent waterfall is made up of two falls, each well over 30ft!

but before we get to the falls, we had to go on a trek through the forest (and over the most rickety looking bridghe i've ever seen!)

did i mention i have a fear of bridges? yup it's a thing. Im a complete wuss.

so after a good 10 minutes of building the courage to brave it, (and james laughing at me the whole time)

I finally made it across and we hiked through the hills and rainforest to see the falls

It was well worth the hike and panic attack. the dark view falls is incredible and completely hidden from all development. it's as if we became jane and tarzan here

We swam, splashed and relaxed in the water before heading back to our ferry to get back to Bequia.

TIPS:

We hired a taxi driver for the whole day to drive us to these locations and it ended up being about 200 EC which is about £56!!!

Take a camera! the views on the hills as you drive around are insane and the waterfalls are a must!

Bring a swimsuit or wear one/ just make sure you have a towel to sit on in the car!

Tip your driver!  We tipped him about £15 as well as buying him some lunch and the guy was so grateful

We hope you get to explore the beauty of St Vincent too!
